Boston public schools close and turn to remote learning due to the outbreak of the corona virus.
March 16, 2020
Originally a temporary measure, the shutdown is subsequently extended for the remainder of the school year. All students are allowed to proceed to the next grade and all eligible seniors are allowed to graduate. After attempting to reopen in October, the schools resort to distance-learning. All schools do not reopen for in-person learning until May 17, 2021.
